Does Nattokinase dissolve plaque, this is a very good question and one that I have a personal interest in.
If someone told me that there was a way to reverse heart disease by taking a natural enzyme called Nattokinase I would be delighted to hear this news because I know what it is like to have a heart attack! I’m going to show you how nattokinase dissolves plaque without side effects.
What is arterial plaque?
Arterial plaque build-up is a real cause for concern because too much plaque in your arteries can affect the blood flow to your heart and other organs.
The two biggest concerns are that (1) the plaque could break off and cause a stroke or (2) the build-up of plaque in your arteries can lead to a blockage causing a narrowing of the arteries.
The answer to the question does Nattokinase dissolve plaque lies within what science has to say about nattokinase studies.
When arteries narrow too much the blood supply to the heart is impeded potentially causing a heart attack, people die every day from suspected heart attacks.
By reducing plaque build-up, you decrease the risk of having a heart attack or dying from a heart attack, the question is how do you reverse plaque build-up in the arteries?

What is Nattokinase?
Nattokinase or natto is made from soya bean, the soya bean is boiled or steamed and then fermented by using the Bacillus subtilis natto a bacterium.
Nattokinase is a proteolytic enzyme meaning it can break down and digest protein, proteins comprise organic amino acid structures and they need proteolytic enzymes to break down these proteins into digestible and absorbable amino acids.
Can Nattokinase dissolve plaque?
Nattokinase is unique in the sense that it can dissolve sticky substances that make arterial plaque stick to arterial walls, by doing so it reduces plaque build-up and blood clots.
Nattokinase was discovered quite by accidenandnt at Chicago University Medical school in 1980, a medical student was experimenting with Natto, and quite by accident the Natto fell onto a petri dish with fibrin in it, guess what?
Nattokinase is a natural solution to plaque build-up without associated negative side effects, Nattokinase does dissolve plaque, that’s not to say that it doesn’t have any side effects, the major benefit of Nattokinase is its benefit in reducing heart disease, it also has other health benefits including:
- Dissolves fibrin (plaque)
- Helps with deep vein thrombosis
- Improves blood flow to the major organs
- Good for high blood pressure
- Reduces varicose veins
- Reduces joint swelling symptoms
- Helps with Chronic Sinusitis
- Increases HDL or good cholesterol
- Nattokinase breaks down toxins
A good source of protein
Nattokinase is a very good source of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, it has vitamin k2 a good transfer agent for calcium into your bone and s, and it also works to reduce calcium building in your arteries.
Remember that Natto is a form of a fermented soya bean, and it is easy to digest and absorb into your body, I’m Japan you could be eating Natto with cabbage, eggs, miso, seaweed, and salad, it is a land o served as an add-on to crackers, raw vegetables or just on a plain cold cracker!
Nattokinase studies plaque build. up?
There has been a lot of research on Nattokinase one joint study between North-eastern State University and a University in Qingdao ado China called Natto a miracle food, citing it as a major benefit in preventing heart disease.
Conventional medicine takes the route of prescribing statin drugs or heart bypass surgery or stenting when a patient presents with cardiovascular disease. Blood thinners are prescribed as part of the program; however, blood thinners do come with side effects:
- Nausea
- Hair loss
- Liver damage
- Diarrhoea
- Stomach pain
- Internal bleeding
- Fatigue
Warning
Nattokinase does dissolve plaque by thinning the blood, it dissolves unwanted fiber and floating debris in the blood vessels, if you are on warfarin or another blood thinner do not take Nattokinase as well!!
There have been reports that women have had heavier periods while taking Nattokinase so av itoid!
Hoit, if you are trying to get better circulation by reducing your blood pressure or have improvements in bone health then Nattokinase is an excellent natural alternative.
What else is Nattokinase good for?
Another benefit of taking Nattokinase is its significant effect on blood clots, a recent study demonstrated how Nattokinase reduces sinus inflammation or persistent sinusitis.
Nasal polyps are caused by mucous build-up in the nasal passage.
Nattokinase can dissolve the mucus and clear the nasal passageway. To keep your airways clear you need to loosen up the mucus that causes blocked airways, this is achieved by using a mucolytic agent in the prescription form to loosen up and clear the build-up.
However, if the mucus is so thick that it can’t be broken down enough by prescription drugs Nattokinase can fill the void and help to clear the mucus, it is also very helpful for people who suffer from COPD, Sinusitis, and Bronchitis.
High blood pressure
A study back in 2016 concluded that there was a link between consuming Nattokinase and lower blood pressure in patients with a disease known as the von Willebrand factor, this disease is known to hinder blood clotting.
The study showed that Nattokinase lowered both the systolic and diastolic readings, especially in the male participants, high blood pressure is normally treated with a range of pharmaceutical drugs like calcium channel blockers, beta blocbeta-blockersibitors/angiotensin 11 reception blockers.
The issue with these treatments is possible side effects such as,
Abnormally low blood pressure
Kidney damage
Impaired renal function
Higher blood potassium

Nattokinase side effects?
Studies have shown that Nattokinase is safe to take orally in supplement form, anywhere up to six months.
Do not take if breastfeeding or pregnant, and do not take if you are on aspirin or warfarin (blood thinners) it may make your blood too thin. If going for surgery stop taking it two weeks beforehand.
Side effects are few don’t forget that Natto has been consumed in China for hundreds of years whereas the rate of heart disease is nine times less than an the USin
Numerous human and animal trials have demonstrated beyond doubt that Nattokinase has a positive effect on blood circulation, it also helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease without few reported side effects.
Drug Interactions
Please note that Nattokinase may interact with some anticoagulant drugs such as heparin, consult with your doctor if you are on medication it may influence how the medicine functions.
How does Nattokinase dissolve plaque?
Good quality Nattokinase supplements certainly can dissolve plaque, by dissolving plaque in the arteries blood flow will return to normal giving you more energy. By reversing the effects of blood clots and plaque build-up you reduce your risks of cardiovascular disease natural way.
Our bodies produce many enzymes that make blood clots, but it only makes plasmin a single enzyme to dissolve the blood clots, as we age our bodies produce less plasmin making us more prone to dangerous blood clots.
Fibrinogen is a blood clotting protein, as we age levels rise leading to increased platelet aggregation which his forms part of the plaque in the arteries as well as cholesterol and other substances.
Plaque build-up is the primary cause of heart attacks and strokes, Nattokinase can help to dissolve this dangerous plaque and reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Nattokinase dissolves fibrin, blood clots contain fibrin so Nattokinase is very beneficial in dissolving existing blood clots, it also blocks the activity of (PAI-1) a plasminogen activator inhibitor, this is useful because ul it has the effect of boosting fibrin dissolving to an even greater extent.

Nattokinase dosage and Instructions
The studies were based on 2,000 FU Nattokinase taken up to 3 times per day, however, the appropriate dosage will depend on your age, condition, general health, and medications that you take. Please do not take more than the stated manufacturer’s dosage.
How are Nattokinase supplements measured?
You will notice on the label of a Nattokinase supplement the term FU, this relates to how much fibrinolytic activity there is in the enzyme, look for a higher FU because the higher the FU the more effective it will be.
What is the difference between Nattokinase & Serrapeptase?
Both are systemic enzymes, and both are good for cell repair, cell gro, reading, and digestion. To put it in a nutshell Nattokinase is best for removing arterial plaque and blood clots while Serrapeptase is best for inflammatory diseases like bursitis, arthritis, C, OPD, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Final Notes on Nattokinase
The number of studies on Nattokinase demonstrated what a powerful enzyme it is, Nattokinase can dissolve fibrin so if taken in the correct dosage it may be beneficial in dissolving blood clots and arterial plaque.
It is inexpensive to buy in supplement form, and the side effects are minimal, however, it shouldn’t be taken in conjunction with blood thinners like warfarin and aspirin, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should stay away from Nattokinase, and suppliers suppliers. instructions, I take Nattokinase for the past year with no side effects, and my daily dosage is 2 x 2,000 FU.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for contacting me, yes Nattokinase is a natural way to dissolve plaque in the arteries, it does take time and how long depends on the amount of plaque build-up and the length of time it is there. I recommend that you give Nattokinase a try over a number of months use the recommended dosage at the start, don’t be afraid to increase the dosage it won’t harm you. Give it time to work, after all it took a long time for plaque to build-up in the arteries, let me know how you get on, to purchase Nattokinase go here.

How are you doing today? My situation is similar and looking into Natto. Does it work?
Hi JJ,
I have passed your question onto the health coach at Good health naturally and will be back with an answer asap.
Fintan
I have recently been diagnosed with a DVT in lower right leg below the knee, to my ankle.
I have a fear of Eliquis and Warfarin, pushed by all my doctors… Heparin too was prescribed for a few days… have not picked anything up yet…
I have started nattokinase 100mg 2x/day for the last two days, and serrapeptase up to 100,000SU for the same time… I also have been using topical DMSO on teh leg, 2x/day 60% gel… and mag oil.
Question is… is nattokinase sufficiently strong to enable me to reasonably stay off the Eliquis and Heparin?
Second question: How lond does nattokinase stay in my system, so I can stop long enough to not interact with the Eliquis? I may not do the Heparin at all… but same question…
I am also planning on adding Lumbrokinase to the mix if I remain on only the enzymes and DMSO.
Any info/advice will be much appreciated!
