Atherosclerosis occurs when the arteries become clogged up with plaque, cholesterol and calcium, these substances combine and build up causing a blockage, the blockage may be undetected until a debilitating event such as a heart attack or stroke occurs.
The problem is a build-up of plaque so how can you get rid of plaque build-up? Nattokinase is a proteolytic enzyme well known for its ability to dissolve fibrin, could nattokinase reverse plaque build-up in the arteries or to put the question another way does Nattokinase dissolve plaque?
Atherosclerosis isn’t confined to just one part of the body in fact plaque build-up can happen anywhere even in the smallest capillaries (blood vessels) where it may not be detected as easily, there are 60,000 miles of these throughout the body.
As we age plaque starts to form and to a small degree our bodies react to this by forming new blood vessels (angiogenesis) to replace the ones that are blocked. When the blood flow is restricted some of the other blood vessels will become wider or larger to make up for the ones that are blocked.
The ageing processes
Unfortunately, the ageing process takes its toll on the mechanisms that our bodies use to deal with plaque build-up, angiogenesis practically shuts down in our late teenage years as our blood vessels start to become less elastic and stiffer.
On the plus side there are some natural solutions that can help to fight against these blockages in the arterial system, these are my recommendations:
Nattokinase and Natto
For hundreds and hundreds of years, the Japanese people have benefited from far less cases of breast and prostate cancer compared to the Western world, even less cases of heart disease, some of the reasons could be high consumption levels of fish and seafood. According to some of the food research, interestingly the Japanese people eat a lot of soyabean products which may contribute to their overall good health.
One of these products is Natto to which they add spores of beneficial bacteria Bacillus natto after they boil the soya beans. Natto tastes like cheese and is referred to as vegetable cheese because of its cheesy taste. In Japan the average intake of Natto per head of population is approximately 2.05 kilograms (4.5 pounds) in fact Natto is used there as a treatment for fatigue, inflammation, vascular and heart disease.
Nattokinase is extracted from Natto, it is an enzyme and may be used to reduce plaque build-up in the arteries. Nattokinase is highly recommended for people age 40+ it is one of the few enzymes that can be effective in removing fibrous or dead tissue wherever it is lodged in the body.
Blood thinners v Nattokinase
When a clot is formed in a blood vessel the best solution is to remove the fibrin deposit as opposed to using an anti-coagulant to thin the blood, it makes sense to use Nattokinase because it has been proven in many studies to remove fibrin (fibroids) and arterial plaque. Blood thinners are fine their job is to thin the blood but they don’t dissolve blood clots whereas Nattokinase does.
Before Nattokinase was discovered the alternatives were thrombolytic medication drugs such as Activase, urokinase and streptokinase, however these medications do come with their own side effects:
- nose bleeds
- unexpected or unusually heavy vaginal bleeding.
- blood in the stool, or black, tarry stools.
- vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds.
- coughing up blood.
- blood in the urine.
These drugs are very expensive, so much so that not every clinic or hospital have them in stock, not to worry anyone but if a patient does arrive at a hospital following a heart attack or stroke they must have the injection quickly because the drugs ability to dissolve the blood clots & fibrous tissue only lasts for a short time. (up to 20 minutes)
When you compare the thrombolytic medication to Nattokinase there are some major benefits such as:
1.Nattokinase is natural
2.100 grams of Nattokinase has the same fibrinolytic as a dose of urokinase
3.Nattokinase the enzyme continues its fibrinolytic activity for up to 8 hours
4, Nattokinase has few reported side effects
You need to be cautious when taking Nattokinase or natto
- If you are taking any prescription blood thinners (warfarin, aspirin) Natto contains a lot of Vitamin K, this may affect or impede the effectiveness of blood thinners. Nattokinase would normally have the Vitamin K taken out but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
- Most heart attacks or strokes occur within a few hours after getting out of bed, if you are a high risk for a heart attack or stroke it’s recommended to take Nattokinase (2) just before bed for that extra bit of protection.
Nattokinase blood circulation
Nattokinase works well by dissolving plaque build-up in the arteries, if this is achieved normal blood flow will resume to all parts of the body including the major organs the heart and the brain.
Nattokinase is something to consider if you suffer from poor circulation or heart disease or peripheral artery disease.
Nattokinase is something if you are over the age of 40 that should be in your medicine cabinet, especially if you are at a high risk of a stroke or a heart attack. After a heart attack or stroke it is vitally important and urgent to put this marvellous enzyme to work, even more important to take action now before something happens!
