Relieve Hip joint pain

Hip joint pain is more common than you might think, today we are going to investigate what are the main causes of hip joint pain and give you natural solutions on how to relieve hip joint pain.

There are many reasons why you would have hip joint pain, it is important to get a diagnosis for you to get the best treatment for cause of your hip joint pain.

The hip is susceptible to various types of injuries, at times these injuries happen to normal healthy joints. The injury could be caused by some type of accident that led to the femoral head being forced out of its socket, or hip joints could be comprised by a congenital deformity or by osteoporosis leaving the hip open to hip pain during the slightest trauma.

Common hip injuries.

This happens after the ball at the top of the femur moves out of its socket leading to inability to move the leg and causing severe pain.

Normally it would take a severe fall or an accident to cause the hip to be dislocated, some people are born with a shallow hip socket (hip dysplasia) this increase the risk of dislocation more probable, very often the ligaments around the hip become displaced or damaged.

Snapping hip syndrome.

One of the main characteristics of this condition is a snapping type sensation in the hip area, you may or may not have any pain or noise. This syndrome can occur when the tissue that connects and supports the hip widen and get caught as they slide over and back across the top end of the femur.

Very often the bursae under the tissue develops inflammation leading to pain in the hip.

Snapping hip syndrome is quite common in sports people that engage in repetitive use of the hip as they take part in activities such as:

  • Soccer
  • Weightlifting
  • Ballet
  • Running

Hip Bursitis Pain

Hip Bursitis

The bursae act as cushions around the hip joint, they also lubricate the joints and keep the hip moving smoothly.

However, a very common problem that occurs and leads to hip pain, the bursae that are located in between the bony bump on the side of the hip become swollen and inflammation sets in causing pain in the hip and outside of the thigh area.

This condition is called trochanteric bursitis and gets worse when standing for too long in the one spot or when doing an activity such as walking.

Broken hip. This can happen at any age but people over 65 and women who have osteoporosis are more susceptible to a broken hip because the bones are weakened from the disease and it doesn’t take much of a fall to break a hip.

If a younger person were to sustain a broken hip it would require a serious injury or a bad fall.

Hip labral tear.

This occurs when the cartilage surrounding the bony edge part of the socket in the pelvis becomes damaged usually from repetitive use of the hip or through an injury caused by a fall where there is twisting of the joint. A hip labral tear can also be seen during the early signs of osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis of the hip.

At the beginning diagnosing osteoarthritis of the hip can be difficult because the pain can be felt in other locations such as the groin, the thigh, buttocks or the knee. This condition can affect people walking and the pain can be sharp, the hip can be stiff or sometimes you feel a dull ache in the hip.

Hip exercises therapy

According to one study of people with confirmed hip osteoarthritis completed over a period of 6 years of 109 people between the ages of 49-80 years the results showed that those who took part in hip exercise therapy agreed that they had better hip function than those who didn’t do hip exercise therapy.
